Ghana international Antoine Semenyo believes Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca shares many of the qualities that made Pep Guardiola one of football’s most respected coaches.
The Black Stars forward is preparing to work under Maresca this season following Guardiola’s departure from the Premier League champions. Semenyo was signed by Guardiola during the January transfer window.
Speaking about his early experiences under the Italian coach, Semenyo praised Maresca’s attention to detail and said his coaching style reminds him of Guardiola’s.
“Very good, very detailed,” Semenyo said when asked about Maresca’s training sessions, as quoted by Manchester City’s official website.
“He’s got an eye for detail and he wants everything to be right, which is quite similar to Pep. That’s good for us as players so we’ve enjoyed it so far.”
Semenyo will be hoping to play a key role for Manchester City as the club begins a new era under Maresca.
