AG to appeal Court of Appeal’s acquittal of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe

The Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice has announced its decision to appeal the Court of Appeal’s ruling acquitting former Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe, of all charges brought against her.

In a press release dated July 30, 2026, the Attorney General said the Director of Public Prosecutions has been directed to immediately file a notice of appeal at the Supreme Court, along with an application for a stay of execution of the Court of Appeal’s judgment pending the outcome of the appeal.

Sedina Tamakloe had previously been convicted in absentia by the High Court on 78 counts, including conspiracy to steal, stealing, causing financial loss to the state, money laundering, and breaches of the Public Procurement Act, and was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.

The Attorney General said it remains committed to due process and is confident the appeal before the Supreme Court will succeed.
