Spokesperson for Chairman Wontumi, Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah, has alleged that there could be a hidden agenda behind the adjournment of Chairman Wontumi’s appeal, suggesting that the delay could prevent him from contesting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairmanship election.
According to Dr. Palgrave in an interview on Angel Fm, Kumasi, the court has adjourned the case to October 15 after the presiding judge indicated that he was unwell and could not sit on the matter until then.
“The judge claims he is sick and cannot sit on the case until October 15, when we have finished the election,” he said.
He questioned whether the timing of the adjournment could have implications for Wontumi’s political ambitions, particularly his reported interest in the NPP National Chairmanship race.
Dr. Palgrave therefore suggested that the delay may not be politically neutral, alleging that it could ultimately prevent Wontumi from participating in the party’s national leadership contest, but his supporters will still take the form for him to contest.
He described the development as potentially part of a hidden agenda against Chairman Wontumi, although he did not provide evidence to substantiate the allegation.
