A member of the NPP National Communications Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, is saying President John Dramani Mahama is entitled to dissolve governing boards and appoint people he believes can deliver.
“I don’t think we should even waste our time. Ultimately, we expect the government to deliver. Who they choose to sit where to get it done, that’s their business anyway,” he said on Newsfile on JoyNews.
His comments follow Mahama’s September 2, 2026 decision to dissolve the boards of nine state-owned enterprises and public institutions with immediate effect.
The affected institutions operate in sectors including petroleum, mining, housing, infrastructure, banking and sports.
Aboagye also questioned the contribution of some of the dissolved boards.
“In any case, we have already known that most of these boards are not doing anything. They are not giving us anything,” he said.
