NAIMOS has begun urgent action over reported illegal mining and encroachment in the Atewa Range Forest Reserve.
The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat said it has already conducted reconnaissance operations in the reserve and is working with relevant security and state agencies on further interventions.
NAIMOS said the next operations will be guided by verified intelligence and further assessments.
The Secretariat also urged the public and civil society groups to continue providing credible information to support efforts to protect the forest reserve.
