Police confirm alleged child-stealing case involving two Happy Royal pupils

Police in the Ashanti Region are investigating an alleged child-stealing incident involving two pupils of Happy Royal International School, while dismissing reports that 11 pupils had been kidnapped.

Airport District Police Commander, Superintendent Kingsley Kawodie, said the case was reported on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in the Manhyia North Constituency.

He clarified that the Police were investigating a child-stealing case involving two pupils and had not confirmed claims about 11 pupils being kidnapped.

The headmaster of Happy Royal International School, Francis Koomson, said the school became aware of the incident around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, by which time the matter had already been reported to the Police.

“We don’t have first-hand information now, but we are relying on the Police for updates,” he said.
