Former RFA Chairman Kojo Yankah has blamed Ghana’s current football challenges on Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, accusing him of putting personal interests ahead of the national team.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Yankah questioned why Baba Rahman was included in the national team, describing the situation as disgraceful and arguing that it reflects the state of Ghana football under Kurt Okraku.
“Ghana football has fallen into a pit, and the major problem is coming from Kurt Okraku. How on earth should Baba Rahman go to the World Cup if not for personal interest,” he said.
He described the situation as “very disgraceful” and accused Okraku of destroying the national team.
“It is very disgraceful, considering the state of our football under Kurt Okraku. He is destroying the national team,” Yankah said.
Yankah further alleged that Kurt Okraku has interests in about eight teams and has employed people to manage them, claiming that the arrangement is motivated by personal interest.
“He has about eight teams, and he has employed people to handle them. The reason he does this is for his interest,” he said.
According to Yankah, some of the players selected for games were previously associated with Okraku, adding that his long experience in the football industry informs his claims.
“Most of the players were his players. I know all these because I have been in the industry for a long time,” he said.
