Canadian man sets Guinness World Record after tattooing more than 90% of his body

A Canadian tattoo enthusiast, Jeremy “Remy” Schofield, has earned a Guinness World Record after covering more than 90% of his body with tattoos over two decades.

The 38-year-old Alberta resident holds the record for the most tattooed living male with multiple layers of ink and is featured in the Guinness World Records 2027 edition.

Remy’s journey began in 2005 when he tattooed his son’s name on his left forearm. What started as an occasional hobby became a long-term passion after he bought a house and could afford to get more tattoos.

“I want to start making up for lost time,” he recalled thinking.

Over the years, he has accumulated approximately 40 layers of ink, with some tattoos placed over earlier designs. He said the process of changing and refining his body art gradually became a hobby in its own right.

Some designs carry personal meaning, including memorial tattoos for his parents, his son’s mother, who died of cancer in 2016, and his dog. Others are humorous designs he reserves for his legs.

Remy, who manages a tattoo parlour and several social media companies, has also documented every tattoo he has received since 2019 on YouTube.

Despite his extensive body art, he does not hold the record for the most tattooed living man, a title held by New Zealander Lucky Diamond Rich. Remy’s face and palms remain untattooed.

He said setting a record was never his main goal, explaining that he simply continued getting tattoos because he enjoyed the process.
