Atubiga blames NDC neglect for Dzokoto’s death, leaks private chat

National Democratic Congress (NDC) member Stephen Atubiga has blamed the party’s neglect of actor and politician Kwame Dzokoto for his death, claiming political disappointment can take a toll on a person’s health.

Atubiga made the claim in a social media post sighted by MyNewsGh.com in which he shared a private conversation with the late Dzokoto. According to him, the actor had complained that he was still waiting to be assigned a role since the party won power.

The Professional Electrician, who says he has personally experienced political neglect, argued that being overlooked after helping a party win an election can affect a person’s health.

“The late Kwame Dzokoto died from NDC neglect after victory,” he wrote, adding that political neglect could quickly destroy a person who was not strong enough to withstand the disappointment.

He further claimed that keeping the pain of political betrayal inside could contribute to health problems and said his own health had never fully recovered after what he described as neglect following the NDC’s 2012 victory.

Atubiga also disclosed that he had recently tried to reach President John Dramani Mahama through one of his special aides to inform him about his health condition and his desire to seek treatment outside Ghana. He said he did not know whether the message had reached the President.

He urged politicians to recognise the personal cost of neglecting party members after electoral victories, although his claims about Dzokoto’s death have not been independently established.
