A new update has emerged in the death of 52-year-old tailor Felix Amanor, after a postmortem report released by his family attributed his death to asphyxiation, raising questions about the account allegedly given by the woman arrested in connection with the case.
The report, conducted by Dr Collins Osei Kissi of St Joseph’s Hospital, comes after a female kenkey seller was arrested and arraigned in court over Amanor’s death.
Amanor’s body was discovered near Dominion City at Pantoase in the Eastern Region on July 5, 2026, a day after he was last seen.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly told investigators that Amanor collapsed and died while they were having sex. She reportedly claimed that she moved his body and dumped it by the roadside because she feared her estranged husband would find out about the encounter.
However, the postmortem finding of asphyxiation has prompted questions about the circumstances surrounding his death and the account attributed to the suspect.
The family has also said the police did not inform them of the suspect’s reported arrest and subsequent court appearance, raising further questions about how the case was handled.
The suspect has been granted bail, while the case docket has been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Office for advice.
Amanor, who lived at Blue Street near Adweso, was reportedly found with his clothes and shop keys nearby. He was buried on October 4, 2026, leaving behind his sick wife and two children.
