NPP communicator, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has stated that the existence of the government’s anti-flood task force shows that preventing flooding is a government responsibility.
The Director of Communications for the Bawumia campaign team argued that the June 29 floods point to a failure in governance and accountability.
“Why did you form that anti-flood task force? If you didn’t have the responsibility to deal with flood, it means that you acknowledge that it is your responsibility,” he said.
He concluded that the government should be held accountable for the outcome.
“So the president and the government have failed us. That is the summary of it,” he stated on JoyNews’ Newsfile.
Aboagye added that the situation reflects what he described as a breakdown in accountability and governance.
