Lawyer Bernard Bediako has been elected as the Parliamentary candidate for the NDC.
Bernard Bediako polled 380 of the votes cast on the day.
Erasmus Koney Ali who came second polled 366 while former Member of Parliament, Henry Yiadom Boakye polled 226.
Bernard Bediako will represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the September 2, 2025 by-election.
Context
The Akwatia by-election became necessary after Ernest Kumi died six months after the 2024 election.
According to the Speaker of Parliament, he died as a result of heart complications.
