Andre Ayew opens up on retirement rumours

Veteran forward Andre Ayew has said he is not thinking about retirement. He says he still feels strong in his body and mind to keep playing at the top level.

The former Ghana captain, now 36, has returned to club football after signing for Dutch club NAC Breda.

He joined them after leaving French side Le Havre at the end of last season. Ayew signed as a free agent on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

He has not played for Ghana since the Africa Cup of Nations, but he is still hopeful about his future in football.

In an interview with ESPN, the Black Stars’ most-capped player said he is not ready to stop.

“I never thought about it because my body feels good,” Ayew explained.

“I take life day by day and prepare myself to be better on and off the pitch. When the time comes, your body will tell you.”
