The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology & Innovations, Sam George, has commended the Cyber Security Authority Ghana following the arrest of 32 Nigerian nationals involved in a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba.
The arrests were made in a joint operation between the Cyber Security Authority and the National Security on the morning of December 13, 2025.
Sam George described the operation as another massive blow…against cybercrime in Ghana,” adding that the government will continue to support the Authority in its efforts to make Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercriminals. “For God and Country,”* he concluded.
This latest operation follows closely on the heels of the arrest of Frederick Kumi, also known as Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng and widely referred to as Abu Trica, a popular Ghanaian social media entrepreneur.
Abu Trica was indicted by U.S. authorities for his alleged involvement in online fraud schemes, including romance scams targeting foreign victims.
He was arrested in Ghana on December 11, 2025, in cooperation with international law enforcement agencies.
