Asante Kotoko and midfielder Prince Badu have mutually agreed to end their relationship as the club continues to reshape its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 26-year-old midfielder joined Kotoko from Nations FC in January 2026 and signed a contract that was set to run until 2028.
However, Badu was considered surplus to requirements by head coach Eric Tinkler and the club’s technical team.
His departure had been expected after reports that Kotoko were planning to release several players as part of their squad changes.
Badu’s exit is part of the first phase of the club’s restructuring as the Porcupine Warriors look to recover from a disappointing campaign and build a stronger team for the new season.
