Rescue and excavation efforts at the site of the collapsed building in Avenor have been successfully completed, bringing an end to the emergency operation.
During the final phase of the excavation, rescue teams retrieved the remaining victim, a female who had been trapped beneath the debris. Sadly, she was found deceased.
This brings the total number of fatalities resulting from the incident to two (2) — one male and one female.
In all, four (4) people were involved in the collapse, comprising three (3) males and one (1) female. Two individuals survived the incident, while two others unfortunately lost their lives.
Authorities have expressed their condolences to the bereaved families as investigations continue into the cause of the collapse.
