Igoh Ogbu has been ruled out of Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Portugal because of injury.
According to Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe, Ogbu suffered an Achilles tendon injury during training on Saturday in Leiria.
The centre-back is expected to return to his club, Slavia Prague, in the Czech Republic for treatment.
The 26-year-old played in Nigeria’s two matches at the Unity Cup tournament in London last month.
Ogbu started Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Poland on Wednesday before being replaced by Semi Ajayi at halftime.
The Super Eagles will face World Cup-bound Portugal in a friendly match in Leiria next Wednesday.
