Bawumia Offers Tangible Plans to Reduce Economic Burdens – Oppong Nkrumah

The Member of Parliament(MP) for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency and Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has affirmed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has a credible plan to address Ghana’s rising cost of living.

Speaking during a campaign for Dr. Bawumia ahead of the upcoming elections, Oppong Nkrumah urged Ghanaians to support a candidate committed to reducing the financial burden on citizens. He highlighted key areas such as electricity costs, transport fares, fuel prices, rent, and taxes, which Dr. Bawumia’s policies aim to address effectively.

According to Oppong Nkrumah, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is merely leveraging the current economic hardships to sway voters but lacks a concrete plan to mitigate the cost of living. He criticized the NDC’s approach, asserting that their campaign rhetoric offers no practical solutions.

Sharing some of Dr. Bawumia’s proposals, Oppong Nkrumah revealed plans to introduce approximately 200 megawatts of solar energy to lower electricity costs. Additionally, the implementation of electronic buses is envisioned to mitigate transportation costs, reducing the dependency on fuel and easing the burden of high transport fares.

Oppong Nkrumah contrasted Dr. Bawumia’s detailed solutions with the NDC’s approach, arguing that the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, offers criticisms without actionable plans. He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s policies provide tangible strategies to alleviate the economic challenges facing Ghanaians.
