Benjamin Asare’s strengths are his aerial ability and calmness – Former Kotoko goalkeeper

Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare says he is not disappointed about missing Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adding that the players selected deserved their places.

The goalkeeper, who made four appearances for Durban City FC in South Africa during the 2025/26 season, said he fully respects the decisions made about the Black Stars squad.

Speaking in an interview with Nhyira FM, Asare said he was not bothered by missing out on the tournament.

“I wasn’t worried about missing the World Cup call-up because I feel those who got in deserve it more,” he said.

Asare also praised Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who has become one of the country’s top goalkeepers.

“Benjamin Asare’s strengths are his aerial ability and calmness in post,” he noted.
