Blood of June 29 flood victims would be on your head – Nana B tells Minister

National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has alleged that delays in releasing funds for flood mitigation contributed to the impact, which included deaths.

He claimed the failure to make the funds available should be examined alongside the loss of lives and property recorded during the flooding.

“Why is the Finance Minister still in office despite failure to release funds for flood mitigation leading to the d3ath of 35 people?

“The blood of those innocent souls will remain on the hands of Ato Forson forever,” he alleged.

According to Nana B, people lost both their lives and livelihoods while funds meant for flood prevention were allegedly not disbursed.

“That Ato Forson should superintend over such ineptitude? People have lost their livelihoods. Money has not been released and now people have lost their lives,” he claimed on Asempa FM

He maintained that government should demonstrate its commitment to accountability by addressing the issues he said were raised in the World Bank report.

Nana B argued that if the Finance Ministry failed to release funds earmarked for flood mitigation, those responsible should be held accountable.
