The body of an unidentified man believed to be in his mid-40s has been found under the Bossman footbridge in the Obuasi East Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
A woman discovered the man and later recounted seeing him staggering around the area before he became motionless.
Speaking to Obuasi TV, the eyewitness said she first noticed the man walking slowly under the footbridge before he made his way towards the street and later returned, looking exhausted.
“I saw him staggering and walking slowly under the footbridge. He later walked towards the street before returning to the footbridge, looking very exhausted,” she recounted.
The woman said she became concerned when she realised the man was no longer moving and informed a committee member in the area.
“He was in a meeting, so he told me he would call the assemblyman for the area,” she explained.
According to her, the committee chairman later informed her that the police had been notified, but officers reportedly did not have a vehicle available at the time.
The police eventually arrived at the scene and conveyed the body.
The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
