Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko says the club are aiming to win the CAF Champions League after securing qualification for Africa’s top club competition.
Medeama have been drawn against DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in the first round of the preliminary stage, setting up a tough test for the Ghanaian champions.
However, Tanko says Medeama are not entering the competition simply to participate but have their sights set on the title.
“We are going there as one of the teams to compete, and so winning the CAF Champions League is our objective,” the former Black Stars assistant coach told Asempa FM.
Medeama will host Mazembe in the first leg at the TNA Park on September 5.
The return leg will be played in DR Congo on September 13, with both matches scheduled for a 15:00 GMT kick-off.
