CAF Draw: Medeama face TP Mazembe as Nations FC draw FC Diarra

Ghanaian clubs Medeama SC and Nations FC now know who they will play in the preliminary rounds of the 2026/27 CAF inter-club competitions after Thursday’s draw at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Premier League champions Medeama will play Congolese club TP Mazembe in the first preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

The Tarkwa club will host the first leg at the TnA Stadium before travelling to the Democratic Republic of Congo for the second leg. If Medeama win the tie, they will face either Tunisia’s Club Africain or Mali’s Djoliba AC in the second preliminary round.

In the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, MTN FA Cup winners Nations FC have been drawn against Mali’s FC Diarra.

The Kumasi club will travel to Mali for the first leg, which will be played between September 4 and 6, 2026. The second leg will be played in Ghana between September 11 and 13.

If Nations FC qualify, they will play the winner of the tie between Niger’s AS Zam and Togo’s ASKO de Kara in the second preliminary round.

Nations FC earned their place in the CAF Confederation Cup after winning the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup. It will be the club’s first time playing in an African club competition.
