A California father, Craig Eady, 44, has died from injuries sustained in a plane crash that already claimed the lives of his wife and two sons.
The family’s four-seater plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Sierra Sky Park Airport on Saturday, killing Danna Eady, 41, and their sons, Pavel, 10, and Remus, 13.
Craig spent three days in hospital with critical burns before dying on Monday.
The crash happened on a bluff above the San Joaquin River, about 12 miles north of Fresno. Danna, a flight instructor at Reedley College, was piloting the aircraft.
The couple’s two older children, Felicity, 18, and Lucien, 17, survived.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. Several electronic devices recovered from the plane have been sent to its headquarters for analysis.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Felicity remembered her parents and brothers in a Facebook post, writing, “I will forever miss my best friends. We went on so many adventures together and truly lived life to the fullest during our time together. I love you Mom, Dad, Remus, and Pavel!”
An online fundraiser has raised about $65,000 towards a $250,000 goal to help the surviving children with expenses following the tragedy.
