Reverend Father Moses Akebule, parish priest of St Martin de Porres Parish, Zuarungu, in the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese, has died, sources say.
MyNewsGh.com gathered that the 64-year-old Catholic Priest is reported to have died in a ghastly car accident on October 16, 2026, while returning from Kongo after visiting a senior colleague.
A statement issued and signed by the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese, Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta, scheduled his funeral rites for November 4 and 5, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish in Bolgatanga.
The programme will begin on Wednesday, November 4, with the reception of his body at 5 pm, followed by a Vigil Mass at 8 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, November 5, followed by burial in the parish cemetery in Bolgatanga.
Most Reverend Alfred Agyenta has called for prayers for the repose of the late priest’s soul and for his family.
“We commend to your prayers the peaceful repose of the soul of our brother Fr Moses Akebule and the comfort and consolation of his family,” the statement said.
