The High Court in Accra has adjusted the bail terms for former National Petroleum Authority CEO Dr. Mustapha Hamid and nine other accused persons in the ongoing extortion case involving oil marketing companies.
They were first granted bail on December 9, 2025, with conditions that required regular reporting to the court’s registrar.
That arrangement has now changed following an application by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which argued that closer supervision was necessary.
Under the revised conditions, the accused must now report to the lead investigator on the first and third Tuesdays of every month before the trial begins.
The investigator will submit monthly compliance reports to the court. Once proceedings start, reporting will shift to once a month, in line with court sittings.
The court also ordered a stop list at all exit points across the country, blocking the accused from traveling outside Ghana without official clearance.
The changes are intended to strengthen oversight and ensure full compliance with bail terms as the case progresses through the legal process.
