Domestic abuse will be women slapping the husband – Femi Lazarus warns men

Nigerian pastor, Femi Lazarus has warned men not to ignore aggressive behaviour from women, saying domestic abuse against husbands could become more common.

Lazarus said he has been seeing conversations online that, in his view, show a growing willingness to excuse or support violent behaviour by women.

“We see more women who want to rule over their husband. I’ve been seeing some things trending online,” he said.

He referred to a case in which a woman killed her children and said some people were still expressing support for her.

“A woman killed the children and then some people are saying, I stand with this person, I identify with. You better check your babe,” he said.

Lazarus then predicted that violence against men could become a bigger issue in relationships.

“In the next couple of years, domestic abuse will be women slapping the husband,” he said.

He also pointed to the kind of threats that can arise during arguments, including women telling men they would hit them.

“I’ll slap you now,” he quoted as an example.

He said men should not automatically dismiss such behaviour as harmless because the person is their partner.

“You see that word, ‘sand’. ‘I’ll land you.’ You say, that might be one of us is angry. She’s your sister,” Lazarus said.
