Don’t draw Dr. Bawumia in the regional elections— Boako warns

Member of Parliament for Tano North, Gideon Boako, has urged persons contesting for various positions in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to desist from using the name of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in canvassing for votes.

He says the former vice president has no interest in any individual contesting for any position.

Rather, he is seeking the best candidates who will lead the party to victory in the 2028 elections.

“Nobody should draw Dr Bawumia into this election. Dr Bawumia is the flagbearer of the party, and as a father, he is overseeing whatever is happening. His interest is that at the end of the day every region is able to elect a executives and leadership that will be able to work their hearts out for the party. I don’t think his interest is to say that I support A or I support B.

I don’t think Dr Bawumia will say that nobody has the right to support any candidate. So nobody should draw Dr Bawumia into this contest. Dr Bawumia wants incredible leadership; he wants someone who can be deliver and do the work,” he said.
