Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman Constituency, Hon Ebenezer Prince Arhin, has urged students preparing to enter Senior High School (SHS) not to let fear of failure stop them from pursuing their dreams.
“Don’t be afraid of failure. Failure is part of success. Failure is part of the learning process. Failure can teach you lessons that success never will. So don’t allow your fear of failure to stop you from pursuing your dreams,” Hon. Arhin admonished.
The MP made the statement as he distributed free trunks, mattresses, and exercise books to 250 deserving incoming Senior High School students in the Mfantseman constituency to ease financial pressure on parents.
He urged the students to excel and be punctual in class to help them achieve their aims and dreams of becoming great people in the future and making Mfantseman proud.
“Don’t be scared of failure. If you don’t get aggregate A and you get aggregate B, fight and struggle to study hard and make sure that, by the next semester, you hit that aggregate A,” Mr Arhin stated.
He said his position today as MP was due to the support he received while pursuing his own education.
The MP noted that, having the privilege to serve as MP, his number one priority was to ensure that every child in Mfantseman had equal opportunity in academics and schoolwork. This, he said, was his biggest priority, and one he would never compromise on.
The Mfantseman Municipal Education Director, Mr. Ransford Appiah, who witnessed the presentation, charged the incoming SHS students to remain disciplined and to know the kind of friends they associate with.
“Choose your friends wisely as you go out there. Know the kind of friends you associate yourself with, as they can affect your academic work. And never stop learning, as that is the main purpose of being a senior high school student,” Mr. Appiah advised.
For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mfantseman, Mr. Eric Stanley Acquah, urged the students to desist from drug abuse and focus on their education, so as to become lawyers, doctors and even Members of Parliament in future.
The Vice Chairman of the Mfantseman Constituency for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Sumaila Arhin, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Mfantseman MP for his continued support and commitment to the people of Mfantseman.
