Vice Chairman, NDC National Youth Working Committee Dr.Kwaku Asiedu-Nketiah Jr. has admonished young politicians not to inherit the enemies of others in politics.
According to him, in politics there are no permanent enemies but just permanent interests.
“You can disagree as a young politician, but never ever think that because you are in a certain alliance, the other people are your enemies. In politics, there are no permanent enemies. There is permanent interest,” he said.
“My father has told me I do not inherit his enemies. He made those enemies pursuing his interest. If the person is his enemy and the person has not offended me, I should live my life with that person. If the person believes that my father is hisbenemy and so I’m his enemy that’s fine. If the person believes he had a disagreement with my father but is cool with me who knows, next time the person can come and support my father’s agenda,” he said.
Commenting on the impending internal elections, he urged young politicians to be mindful of their comments and the languages they use in communicating for their preferred candidates.
“Be careful of the kind of words we use. You can disagree with someone based on a position. You can debate based on that. You are in the position to decide who will serve your interest well,”he said.
