Media personality Alexis De Godson has criticized what he describes as the treatment of some female gospel musicians by their pastor-husbands, alleging that mistrust and unfair practices have affected their ability to pursue their ministries.
Speaking on AsetenaPa, Alexis De Godson claimed that some pastors discourage their wives, who are gospel artistes, from performing at events organized by other churches.
“The pastors are sinning too much. Why is it that some of these pastors, when they marry gospel artistes, do not allow them to go for programmes? What is the problem?” he questioned.
He alleged that some pastors fear their wives could experience the same inappropriate conduct they themselves may have witnessed or engaged in within the gospel music industry.
“They know that they have been sleeping with some of the singers, and that is why they refuse to allow their wives, who are artistes, to go for programmes because they fear other pastors will also sleep with their wives,” he alleged.
Alexis De Godson further claimed that some churches also fail to honour their financial commitments to gospel musicians after inviting them to perform.
“Some of them also find it difficult to pay the agreed fees after programmes and unnecessarily delay payment,” he alleged.
