Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey says he would not be shocked if Ghana loses to England in their Group L match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will play England in their second group game on Tuesday, June 23, at Gillette Stadium. Both teams are looking to improve their chances of reaching the knockout stage.
Even with Ghana’s good start, Lamptey believes England are stronger and are favourites for the match.
Speaking to Asempa FM, he said he would be more surprised if Ghana wins than if they lose.
“I will be surprised should Black Stars win against England. They are better than us in terms of everything,” he said.
“I’m a Ghanaian, and if we win, I will celebrate, but on the phase of it, I’ll not be surprised if we lose to England,” Odartey Lamptey added.
