EOCO matter has ‘absolutely nothing’ to do with Salomey Baffoe case – Inusah Fuseini

Former Tamale Central MP Inusah Fuseini says the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) matter involving Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has nothing to do with his legal representation of Salomey Awity Baffoe.

Mr Fuseini, speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, said Mr Awuah knew why authorities wanted to speak to him and should report to EOCO if he was confident that he had committed no offence.

“He is aware of the reasons why he’s being looked for. He is convinced that he’s not committed an offence, and that all at all material times he was acting as a lawyer,” he said.

Mr Fuseini rejected any suggestion that the investigation was connected to Mr Awuah’s defence of Ms Baffoe.

“And it has absolutely nothing to do with his representation of Salome. Absolutely nothing,” he said.

He repeated the point, saying he had knowledge of information beyond what had been publicly disclosed.

“But to be honest with you, I know more than is disclosed. And it has absolutely nothing to do with his representation of Salome,” he said.

Mr Fuseini therefore urged Mr Awuah to report to the agency and address the issues under investigation.

“And so, all I will say is that if he believes that these are the facts of the case, he should just go and report and clear his name and walk away,” he said.
