Executive and judicial colluding to weaken Parliament – Bagbin

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin is worried that the Executive and Judiciary are colluding to weaken the Legislature in Ghana.

The Speaker of Parliament made this known at a Press conference on November 6, 2024 to address the issues surrounding the vacant seats in Parliament.

To him, there is no constitutional crisis in the country as the people of Ghana are made to believe.

“There is no constitutional crisis in this country. The parliament of Ghana is alive and working, let nobody mislead, misinform, or disinform you and the country.

Adding that  the Judiciary and the Executive should make the laws of the country work.

“Democracy is about the rule of law, let the law work”.

It will be remembered that the Majority Leader, Afenyo Markin’s exparter application for a stay of execution was granted by the Supreme Court.

Although the Speaker sought to set aside the ruling of the Supreme Court, the court did dismissed his case, indicating that refusal to adhere to their ruling will mean a high crime.
