Social activist, Atick Mohammed believes galamsey is worse under the current administration because it is the source of gold the government is depending on.
He says they are shipping out this gold and sadly incurring losses.
Making his cas in a social media post, he said because the government depends on this as the main source of gold, it has made the fight against illegal mining very difficult.
His post read “The reason galamsey is worse now is, it is the source of the gold they are busy shipping out, and incurring those huge inexplicable losses. How could we reasonably expect them to fight something they profit from?”.
