Finish What You Started – Adjei-Mensah Korsah fires Mahama

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, has criticized the government’s infrastructure strategy, accusing it of abandoning ongoing projects in favour of initiating new ones.

Speaking on AsaasePa 107.3 FM, the former minister questioned the rationale behind launching additional projects when several inherited ones remain incomplete.

“Why is this government obsessed with starting new projects when it cannot complete the existing ones?” he asked.

According to Mr. Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has misplaced its development priorities by focusing on what he described as unnecessary new projects instead of completing those already underway.

“The NDC has misplaced priorities, concentrating on unnecessary projects. The projects they have started will not even be completed because when we enter 2027, they will begin campaigning and will not be able to finish them,” he claimed.

He further alleged that the decision to initiate new projects may have been influenced by financial considerations, arguing that previously initiated projects already had approved budgets and expenditure plans.

“I believe they did this because they wanted a share of the money being invested, since the old projects already had their expenses and budgets determined. This is one of the issues we as a country are facing,” he alleged.

Mr. Adjei-Mensah Korsah maintained that completing projects initiated under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration would have yielded greater economic benefits.

“If they had completed the projects we, the NPP, started, they would have created more jobs for the youth and reduced unemployment,” he stated.

He urged the government to focus on completing ongoing infrastructure projects to maximise public investment and deliver tangible benefits to Ghanaians.
