Franklin Cudjoe urges NPP to apologise, present new ideas ahead of 2028 election

IMANI Africa Founding President Franklin Cudjoe has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to focus on rebuilding public confidence by presenting practical policy alternatives rather than relying on political messaging ahead of the 2028 elections.

Responding to former Deputy Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, Mr Cudjoe said the party should engage Ghanaians on the issues affecting their communities and explain how it would approach governance differently.

“There is a better way to warm yourselves into the arms of the average Ghanaian again, hasten slowly, listen carefully to the critical needs of Ghanaians in every constituency, tell us how you would solve them differently, efficiently and prudently with fewer resources,” he said.

He added that the party should explain why it believes it deserves another opportunity to govern.

“Explain why your temperament as a party makes you the obvious choice for 2028,” he stated.

Mr Cudjoe argued that public support would not be won through political rhetoric alone.

“Until this important exercise is undertaken, no amount of chest-beating like the gorilla, feet-thumping like the elephant, or singing of political dirges can help you,” he said.

He also urged the party to apologise to residents of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe (SALL) over decisions affecting the constituency.

“Above all else, prepare a statement of apology to the people of SALL for the cardinal sin you committed against them,” he said.
