GFA reinforces child protection during Elite U-17 Girls Championship

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) made sure all the players were safe during the Elite U-17 Girls Championship at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram. The GFA made the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every young player a top priority throughout the competition.

Before the tournament started, the GFA carried out a full safety check. This included child protection, player welfare, medical support, emergency plans, venue safety, and security.

The players also took part in safeguarding lessons before the competition. They learned how to recognise and prevent abuse in football, the different types of abuse, and how to report any concerns. Female safeguarding officers were available to support the players during the tournament.

The GFA also made sure player welfare standards were followed throughout the championship. Teams were encouraged to get quick medical help from the medical staff at the venue whenever a player needed support.
