A vehicle belonging to the Ghana National Fire Service(GNFS) in the Northern Region caught fire while responding to a blaze along the Tamale–Savelugu road on Wednesday, February 25, 2026
It is unclear what sparked the fire in the vehicle that was responding to an emergency, but sources close to the agency claimed to MyNewsGh.com that the incident was supposedly caused by poor maintenance.
Firefighters quickly aimed the truck’s own water hose at the blaze, limiting the fire. Although parts of the vehicle were damaged, the crew’s swift action ensured the damage was minimal.
None of the crew on board was injured.
