Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has assured young Ghanaians that the government is committed to creating opportunities that will enable them to succeed, while urging them to take responsibility for shaping their own future.
Opare Addo said no one else could determine the course of their lives, stressing that their future depends on the choices they make today.
“It will be written by you. No one can write your future for you. You are the only one who can define and write your future,” he said in a video seen my MyNewsGh.
The minister encouraged young people to believe that they have an important role to play in Ghana’s development and not postpone their contribution to the country’s progress.
“Love your country and stop believing that your greatest contribution still lies ahead. It is now,” he stated.
Opare Addo further assured the youth that President John Dramani Mahama’s administration remains committed to supporting them through policies and programmes aimed at improving opportunities for young people.
“The government of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama believes in you. The Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment believes in you,” he said.
He added that the ministry’s objective is to help create a country where young people are able to move beyond simply meeting their daily needs.
“Together we will build a Ghana where every young person has the opportunity not merely to survive but to thrive,” Opare Addo stated.
