Former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Pius Enam Hadzide says the government and the Sports Ministry must accept responsibility for the current state of Ghana football.
Speaking on GTV’s Breakfast Show, Hadzide painted a worrying picture of where the country stands, insisting that the situation cannot be ignored.
“It’s difficult and painful to see, but we are not in a good place. We are not in a good place,” he said.
According to him, accountability should not be directed only at football administrators when the national game faces challenges.
“I think that the ministry and the government must be held responsible for where we stand as a country,” he stated.
Hadzide explained that his comments are based on experience gained during his time at the Sports Ministry, where he had the opportunity to observe how the sector operates.
“I don’t make this comment lightly. I’ve had the opportunity to work in the Ministry of Sports for almost two years.”
“The ministry and government must be held responsible,” he reiterated.
