Former MP, Inusah Fuseini has addressed the supposed snub by some NDC supporters since their party came to power in 2024.
Speaking on Metro TV, he noted that while individual expectations are legitimate, they must be balanced against the collective interest of the party.
“It’s natural for party members to ask what they’ll get if the party comes into power,” he said.
“Expectations are aspirations, and we cannot fault them for that. But no individual interest should override the collective good.”
Fuseini recounted his early days in politics, emphasizing a culture of selfless service.
“When I started as a low-level PNDC member, the focus was on the collective.
“We did not work for personal gain, and that principle shaped our approach to appointments.”
He also highlighted the delicate balance required in assigning roles.
“Appointments should reward contribution but not make some members too visible at the expense of others.
“Visibility without merit can demoralize those who worked hard for the party,” Fuseini said.
“The formula considers regional representation, gender balance, and party contributions.
It’s designed to maintain cohesion, loyalty, and fairness while keeping the party united,” he concluded.
