Member of Parliament for Walewale, Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama has differed on the decision by government to privatize the Electricity Company, Ghana.
He believes that this institution has huge prospects, and if managed well by the government, it can be a great source of revenue for the government.
To him, the government seems to be abusing the overwhelming support it garnered from the Ghanaian people and needs to be careful.
Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama who made this known in a post via social media, urged the government to hasten with caution.
His post read “I agree with PUWU and I think this is an early rush to sell off a state asset that’s huge prospects for operational and financial turnaround. The NDC is abusing the overwhelming support from Ghanaian, thinking they could go away this. The government should hasten with caution”.
Meanwhile, Energy Minister John Abdulai Jinapor insists that privatization of ECG is the way to go.
He said the initiative aims to boost operational efficiency and improve power distribution across the country.
