Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah says Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak’s explanation on the whereabouts of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu has not resolved public concerns.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsight, Baffour Awuah said the minister’s comments had instead raised additional questions about her custodial status.
“When you listen to him, what is clear is that he sought to put finality to the controversy, but he has created more controversy,” he said.
The MP questioned why government has not disclosed the prison facility where Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is serving her sentence and asked whether records confirming her incarceration are available.
“Where are the records confirming that she’s in prison? Where are the records?” he asked.
According to him, the transfer of a convicted person into prison custody follows established procedures, including documentation and warrants that should verify the process.
Baffour Awuah also suggested that Parliament could conduct further inquiries to obtain more details on the matter.
