Rapper D-Cryme has opened up about one of the biggest lessons he has learned throughout his career, saying he has realised that supporting others requires knowing who is genuinely ready to grow.
The rapper, who has been known for collaborating with and supporting other creatives, said his desire to carry people along sometimes became difficult because not everyone was prepared to put in the required effort.
“Anytime that I give assistance or I am there, I really want to be there. However, there are too many lessons learned,” he said on Joy Prime.
According to him, one major lesson has been understanding that people must also show commitment before they can be helped.
“This is something that I tell people out there: help who wants to be helped,” D-Cryme stated.
He explained that trying to push everyone forward at the same time can eventually become a challenge.
“Many times, what I always wanted to do was take everybody along, but at a point it becomes a burden,” he said.
The rapper added that focusing on people who are serious about improving themselves makes it easier to create meaningful progress.
“When the person is serious, you can easily project that person than trying to take all ten at the same time and some are bringing setbacks,” he explained.
D-Cryme said the experience has not made him regret helping people because he believes personal growth comes through continuous learning.
“Any help or assistance that I have given, or anything in the journey of life, I am always grateful because you can’t know everything. Whilst you are going, you learn,” he said.
He described his career as a continuous learning process where mistakes and experiences have shaped how he approaches leadership and mentorship.
