I am not on social media – Davido’s father explains why he called press conference

Dr. Deji Adeleke says he decided to speak publicly for the first time because the paternity claims involving his son, Davido, keep resurfacing online.

“This is my very first time addressing the press,” he said in a video sighted by MyNewsGh. “I am not on social media, but every year this story comes back.”

According to him, the allegation centers on a young girl in Ibadan, which blogger Kemi Olunloyo has repeatedly linked to Davido.

“She has been after my son for many years,” Dr. Adeleke said. “Everything she says about him is always negative.”

He explained that he usually advises Davido to ignore the claims. “I always tell David to move on with his life,” he stated.

Dr. Adeleke said he was prompted to speak after receiving a message from a relative of the child’s mother, denying involvement in the online posts.

“She told me the account posting those things is not run by her or her mother,” he said. “She said it is run by Kemi, whom they cut ties with years ago.”

After seeing the renewed online discussions, Dr. Adeleke said he felt it was time to respond. “As the head of my family, I felt I should tell our side,” he said.

He added that he has 14 grandchildren already. “What will one more be?” he asked. “If science proves she is my granddaughter, I will accept her gladly.”
