Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) vice-president George Afriyie has criticised Carlos Queiroz’s defensive style despite the coach guiding the Black Stars to the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
However, Afriyie is not a fan of Queiroz’s tactical approach.
“As for Carlos Queiroz, I don’t like his defensive approach. It’s old-fashioned,” he added.
Queiroz was appointed on a four-month contract in April following the dismissal of Otto Addo. He is expected to leave the Black Stars job when his contract expires.
The Portuguese coach guided Ghana to the knockout stage of the World Cup in North America, helping the team reach that stage for the first time since 2010.
