Musician and event organiser Mimi Adani has opened up about the difficult journey that led to the birth of her daughter, revealing that she endured years of heartbreak before becoming a mother.
Speaking at the second edition of MzGee’s Convergence of Mothers, Adani disclosed that her daughter, Marvella, arrived after 13 years of marriage and four pregnancy losses.
“I got Marvella after 13 years of marriage,” she said.
The experience took a heavy toll on her emotional well-being.
“I lost four pregnancies. I went through depression. I went through anxiety and panic attacks, and these were clinically diagnosed.”
According to Adani, becoming a mother after such a long wait remains something she still struggles to fully comprehend.
“When I look at her sleeping, I ask myself, ‘Is this mine?’ God took 13 years to create this beauty.”
