Former Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has dismissed claims that he lacks influence or resources in the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer race.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile program, Dr Adutwum made it clear that he actively supports party delegates when he meets them. “I’m not a man of straw. I also give to NPP delegates when I visit them,” he said.
He explained that his engagement with delegates goes beyond just financial support. “When I speak to the delegates, they listen because they know I have something to offer—experience, ideas, and a track record,” he stated.
Dr Adutwum pointed to his time in government and Parliament as proof of his credibility. According to him, his work as a former Minister of Education and as a lawmaker has given him the experience needed to lead.
He stressed that he is serious about his ambition and believes his record speaks for itself. “People know what I have done and what I can do,” he added.
