Investigate Cantonment Demolishing – Bawumia’s office to IGP

The office of the Vice President has debunked claims that his office is involved in an unlawful entry and demolition of some properties in Cantonments.

A statement from his office explained that the Vice President does not have any interest in any property in Cantonment and Labone areas where such acts allegedly happened.

“We wish to place on record that the Vice President or his Office does not have any interest in any property in the Cantonments and Labone areas where such acts are alleged to have occurred,” part of the statement read.

The statement further clarified that no officer or agent has been authorised by the Vice President or his Office to engage in any activities involving lands or properties in these areas.

The Office of the Vice President called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare and the police hierarchy to work with the victims to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure legal action is taken.

“We are by this release, calling on the general public to treat as false, any information contrary to the position stated above,” the statement added.
